Marie studied German Studies and Political Science for teacher's profession at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) and graduated with the first state examination. She is also an IHK-certified marketing communications clerk.
After completing her studies, Marie worked for three years as a research associate at TUD in a project related to the federal and state government's quality offensive for teacher training funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Germany (BMBF). During this time, she also worked as a lecturer in civic education at TUD. Marie's work focused on research, science communication and education in the fields of pedagogical bonding, «Anerkennung», diversity sensitivity, inclusion and «Rassismuskritik». This way, her work was connected to sustainability in the areas of quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5) and reduced inequalities (SDG 10). In her private life, sustainability has also been a central topic for years. Since 2016, Marie has been organizing and hosting swap meets to raise awareness for sustainable and sufficient consumption.
Marie is a member of the Swiss association Demokrative. Initiative für poltische Bildung since 2024.
