The Zurich Knowledge Center for Sustainable Development (ZKSD) was founded by the four universities of the Canton of Zurich (UZH, ZHAW, PHZH and ZHdK). The project platform, which was launched in 2021, brings together research and teaching from various disciplines and universities and makes them actionable for the goals of sustainable development.
Current projects of UZH researchers at the ZKSD
Pathways to sufficiency: The principle of sufficiency seeks forms of well-being that are not based on growth in material consumption. The aim of the project is to develop a workshop method that inspires and supports participants to take steps towards sufficiency.

Improved crop storage in Eastern Africa: Cost-effective solutions to reduce food losses in Sub-Saharan Africa through improved crop storage exist, but are still hardly being used. The project investigates the reasons behind and develops solutions together with smallholder households.
