Ich werde nur noch an Orte reisen, die mit dem Zug erreichbar sind. Wohin wir reisen ist eh sekundär. Das fühlt sich für mich richtig und gut an, deshalb setze ich diesen Vorsatz bereits seit 3 Jahren problemlos um.

Ich versuche nur noch 1x pro Jahr mit dem Flugzeug in die Ferien in Europa zu fliegen. Schon heute wähle ich wenn möglich den Zug. Bei Autofahrten müssen mind. 2 Personen im Auto sein. Die Strecke muss per Velo oder ÖV zu weit weg oder mit sehr grossem Zeitverlust erreichbar sein. Zur Arbeit fahre ich möglichst immer mit dem Velo (ausser im Winter bei Eis und Schnee).

Ganz einfach, ich verreise sowieso praktisch nie per Flugzeug, ich hatte es nicht vor und bin auch seit 2017 nie im Flugzeug gereist. Könnte es mir auch kaum leisten.

Ich reise wenn immer möglich mit der Bahn und nutze für längere Strecken beispielsweise Nachtzüge. Oft sind auch virtuelle Treffen sinnvoll. Eine Flugreise muss durch Distanz und Reisezweck gerechtfertigt sein.

We, the Faculty of Science Sustainability Committee, commit to exploring ways to incentive the reduction of air travel. We focus especially on the positive lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic such as the use of online spaces to host international speakers or attend meetings.

Ich orientiere mich an der Selbstverpflichtung einiger deutscher Universitäten, Reisen von bis zu 1.000 km nicht mit dem Flugzeug zurückzulegen; je nach Verbindung kann die Reisedauer im Verhältnis zur Strecke stark variieren - daher sind damit Reisen bis zu 12 Stunden Fahrtzeit gemeint. Darüber hinaus: Sollte ein Flug zum Beispiel in die USA unverzichtbar sein, gleiche ich meine Treibhausgasemissionen via atmosfair aus.

I have been attending different type of meetings (e.g. advisory board) via online platforms already before the pandemic and will continue to do so. Traveling to Berlin (for example) for a 1-day meeting doesn't make sense to me. I am happy that the acceptance of using these formats has been forced by the pandemic. Attending meetings with >100 participants can be done via online platforms without losing too much. Seminar series with international speakers should be offered in hybrid format.
